Desperate! Pls advise me. Should i ditch a friend of 10 years because his friends don't like me?

i honestly think that you should move out...the relationship that the both of you are in isn't a relationship...the fact that you have already took responsibility for your mistakes shouldn't have to be a problem between you and his friends...it doesn't make you less of a person...people make mistakes all the time...i'm sure that he is a great guy but if he can turn around and insult you so easily in front of his friends just goes to prove that he isn't as loyal to you as you think...your also right about the fact that he may be ashamed of you...he probably thinks that he's saving his reputation by ignoring you...a true friend would stick by you no matter what even when you were having problems...your friends should have been right there supporting you...i'm not saying that they should of held your hand but the least they could have done was visit you personally and ask you how you were doing face to face instead of over the phone...a lot of people go through alcohol and drug problems everyday...if they couldn't be there for you physically they could have least understood you mentally...you deserve better than a friend that's ashamed of what you did in the past...it why they call the past the past, the present the present, and the future the future. i hope that my answers helps you...and remember your the one that was trying...he was the one that gave up.
