How are marijuana and ethanol related?

They are both drugs, ie: they both affect the normal function of the central nervous system. Ethanol is a form of alcohol, all alcohols being depressants (they slow the system down) while marijuana, due to its varied composition, can have any or all of the effects of a stimulant, depressant, hallucinogen, or anti-psychotic.
